This Gracious Work

 

The earnest mission of This Gracious Work is to provide, out of God’s abundance, capital for the building of long lasting structures.  This physical support will provide the facilities necessary to serve communities in need under the guidance of legitimate indigenous managers.

Roger O. Lucas

Co-Founder and President

As a visionary force within This Gracious Work, Roger Lucas lends his leadership, integrity, diligent workmanship, and articulate communication skills in guiding team members to establish and continue the forward momentum of this endeavor.  Roger holds solid, wide-ranging administrative and people management competence gleaned from 22 years experience as the former Senior Pastor of Shekinah Christian Center.  He has accumulated over thirty six years experience as a pastoral and public teacher, and has written numerous texts.  Roger’s ministerial experience includes over thirty years of providing viable counsel to individual, marital and family issues. Additionally, he pioneered the planting of two churches, Evangel Christian Center and Grace Fellowship.  Roger has participated in several overseas building projects spanning the globe. He has a divergent, cross-cultural mission background, which includes service work in Ethiopia, India, Hong Kong, Guatemala, Thailand and the Philippines.  Currently, Roger is an acting supervisor with Sunriver Resort Corporation.  He earned a B.S. in Theology with emphasis in Counseling and Psychology from Northwest Christian College.  Roger is married and the father of three daughters.

 

William R. Wood

Co-Founder

As co-founder and past President of This Gracious Work, Bill Wood is a dynamic, driving force in the daily activity and continued operations of this enterprise.  Bill holds expansive experience in fiscal administration in both private and government institutions. He worked with the United States Army in a diverse, thirty year career of assignments spanning the United States, Germany and Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As an Officer in Finance and Logistical support, he represented United States interests with senior level foreign government officials. Previous employment includes the State of Oregon, Oregon State Board of Control, where he coordinated financial administration of state institutions.  Bill currently serves as a director and advisor to additional non-profit corporations, providing guidance, support and hands-on wisdom to numerous charitable endeavors. Bill has amassed considerable international traveling experience and utilizes his expertise to guide outreach teams and direct field inspections in foreign locations.  Bill has supervised multiple building projects and his current focus is managing ongoing operations in Thailand.  He holds a MBA from Boston University, Boston Massachusetts.  Bill is married and has three sons.

 

Daniel L. Nordstrom

Board Director

Dan Nordstrom imparts his consummate range of experience and wisdom to This Gracious Work, combining a gift of keen insight with a conscientious ability to accomplish goals. He currently serves as the Senior and founding pastor of The Bridge, where he is actively involved in overseeing its administration and finances, as well as providing teaching and pastoral counseling.  Dan’s broad background of ministerial service includes leadership of adult Bible classes, guest speaking at corporate worship services, organizing and facilitating men’s retreats, and serving as Secretary/Treasurer for the Men’s Ministry Board.  Dan was formerly employed as General Manager of Nuclear Oversight at the Trojan Nuclear Plant, and previously as a Manager of Licensing Information Services for NUS Corporation.  He served in the United States Navy as a naval officer for ten years, directing ship operations, developing training activities and directing quality assurance programs. Dan’s extensive travels include over fifteen foreign countries. Dan graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.  He also holds a Master of Divinity from Multnomah Biblical Seminary.  Dan is married and the father of a son and daughter.

 

Joseph D. Willis

Investment Coordinator

As the investment coordinator, Joe Willis lends his extensive professional business management and investment experience to This Gracious Work. He oversees the management of the foundation’s portfolio, lending professionalism and integrity in its stewardship. As co-owner of Waste Control, Inc., Joe is responsible for concurrently managing four corporations, and under his financial management, the companies have grown exponentially.   Active in community affairs, Joe currently serves on the Legislative Sub-committee for the Washington Refuse and Recycling Association, is a Member of the Board for the Lower Columbia College Foundation Finance Sub-committee, and holds a position on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee. Joe is effective and generous in his ministry activities and is a steady advocate of providing education opportunities to students in need.   Presently, he is dedicated to leading and coordinating cross-cultural, volunteer mission endeavors to Honduras and Thailand. Joe graduated from Seattle Pacific University, earning a B.A. in Entrepreneurship with an emphasis in Management and Finance. He is married and the father of two daughters and a son.

 

Todd Anderson

Board Member

Todd Anderson combines a passion for the youth of this present generation with the balanced wisdom of seventeen years of pastoral experience.  Todd currently serves as Senior Pastor of Shekinah Christian Center, actively teaching, counseling and overseeing a large assembly, as well as directing its administration and finances. He previously worked for ten years as Youth Pastor for Shekinah, building and solidifying its teen program.  Todd was Head Youth Pastor for three years in Sonora, California, overseeing outreach ministries, supervising construction projects, implementing school tutoring programs, teaching, and coaching.  As the Youth Sectional Director, he was responsible for managing operations and coordinating Assembly of God pastors for all of northern California.   Todd was called to youth ministry while enrolled in the masters program with the University of Nations, and has traveled over twenty countries, including the South Pacific, Australia, Costa Rica, Japan, Canada, Mexico and Thailand.  He has worked closely with Youth with a Mission, and has amassed considerable skill directing overseas mission trips.  Todd holds a double major in Psychology and Theology from Bethany College of Scotts Valley, CA.  He is married and the father of a son and daughter.

 

Dr. Terrance Tack

Board Member

Dr. Terry Tack is committed to serving those less fortunate by delivering healing and hope through the spearheading of medical site visits to impoverished communities. For over 8 years, Dr. Tack has facilitated various teams of professionals and volunteers to treat medial and optometric problems in La Guacamaya, Honduras and its surrounding regions. Dr. Tack’s professional expertise is extensive; currently he is CEO and President of Longview Eye and Vision, Inc., which he originally established in 1974. He previously received his commission and practiced optometry during his years serving the United States Air Force. Terry Tack has gained astute travel savvy through his global ventures which include Africa, Thailand, Honduras, Mexico, Austria, Italy and Germany.  Dr. Tack teaches personal enrichment topics such as financial management in his spare hours. Terry received his Bachelor of Science and successive Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University. He also holds a Diploma of Practical Theology from International Seminary. Terry is married and the father of three children.

 

Lori A. Garrison

Secretary

Lori Garrison serves as the board secretary, utilizing her considerable professional and volunteer experience from public and private sectors to benefit This Gracious Work.  She has held positions in public school, account management, administrative, and advertising sectors. Lori’s ministerial experience includes comprehensive teaching of children, teen and adult classes, facilitating youth activities and functioning as a wedding coordinator.  Lori’s community service background includes working as the Longview School District Volunteer Coordinator Liaison and Boy Scouts of America Board Director. She has managed fundraising campaigns for the Longview Public School District, United Way, Boy Scouts of America and Shekinah Christian Center.  Presently, Lori facilitates and teaches adult Bible study classes. She received Certification for Grant Writing from Lower Columbia College and earned a Diploma of Practical Theology from International Seminary. Lori has participated in overseas outreach ventures in Mexico, Thailand and India.  She is married and the mother of a son and two daughters.
